Day 03

Part one

Yesterday I woke up a little earlier than usual.  All of my cousins were sitting at the breakfast table doing their weird Japanese songs, jokes, and faces.  My aunt Masami prepared me a salmon salad and a bowl of fresh white rice-- An "odd" breakfast as she called it, but it was simple, clean, and SO GOOD.  The dressing on the salad was a light vegetable oil & seasoning mix which lightness complimented the salmon. (* v *)

Once the kiddos left for school, my aunt and I left for Daiso (their $1 store that has values far higher than what they sell it for) and a "recycle" store and a "recycle" store.  The concept of it is like Goodwill, where people bring things they no longer want and other people can buy it at a cheaper price.  She told me that they have a manga section, so I could buy what I wanted from there.  It was a peaceful and beautiful ten minute walk there.  We took the quieter scenic route.  I saw some "ajisai" or hydrangeas, which made me think of a certain someone. <3

When we arrived at our first destination, Daiso, I was very happy to see the different kinds of chopstick designs.  I bought some since I don't have any nice ones for myself.  (@ v @)  Masami and I also purchased some flash cards I could write kanji on so that I can practice while I am here!  On our way to the check-out lane, I found something that no longer exists in the US-- CRUNCH m&m's!!!  My aunt had never seen the flavor before, and happily purchased a bag for me and a bag of coconut ones for herself.

The recycle store was in the same building as Daiso which was VERY convenient.  When we made our way down the stairs, I found a bunch of clothes nicely ordered into rows, glass cases with jewelry and lots of expensive company wallets, bags, and lighters such as Gucchi and Coach.  Everything was fairly inexpensive, but since I didn't know my Japanese clothing size, I decided not to purchase clothing.  My aunt then told me that on this floor they had anime figurines...
I spent a good hour looking through the TWO aisles filled with anime goods.  I goods from stickers, to helmets, to those anime mouse pads with built in boobs (which I had to explain to my aunt what they were (> v>; ) )!  I purchased two AnoHana goods, a Momotarosu figure from Kamen Rider Den-O, a Pokemon sticker book from 1997, a bag of Japanese Pepsi un-opened Star Wars chibis, and two Final Fantasy mini figures~.
